Terrifying, isn’t it?
The thought that a moment is merely fleeting.
The idea that this is all it ever will be.
A moment.
An improvised fragment of spoken word that cannot be recalled from the depths of a memory.
Why must I be burdened by having no souvenir other than a husk of enchantment that dwells solely within the fragile conscience?
It is overwhelmingly tragic how one can’t cling onto a moment like a tangible object,
As one may endearingly grasp a locket, a book, a pillow…
It is reminiscent forevermore of an experiment that never truly is replicated with exact precision.
It is mere glimpse,
A flicker
within the vastness of spacetime,
An irreversible recording of a melody that must come to an end
A ripple,
an echo…

Shall I wade in the past a while longer?
Indulge in reflection; soak myself in the murky memory?
Would it be wise of me to linger, if it would mean that there will be less moments to follow?

ReachIvy.com organized an online blog/vlog competition to provide people the unique opportunity to share their lockdown stories using their creativity. Kirsten Elyse Melo beautifully pens down the impact the pandemic has had on her and how she is learning to deal with it. Here is a little snippet for you to read. ‘Terrifying, isn’t it?
