House of Experts plans to make a collection of interactive and informative sessions with experts from various domains.
Vibha Kagzi, the host, is the Founder and CEO of ReachIvy.com, a premium study abroad and career consultancy organization. Vibha, a Harvard alumna, is a successful entrepreneur and believes in helping others chalk out their future careers.

In Episode 24 of House of Experts, we were fortunate to host the Founder of LXME and Managing Director & Promoter at AnandRathi Group, Priti Rathi Gupta.

Priti can be best described as a financial feminist. She launched India’s 1st Financial Planning Platform for Women, LXME with an aim to bridge the gap between women and finance. LXME powers women across life stages to invest in a customized, easy and hassle-free product and take charge of their money. Beyond a financial planning platform, LXME also drives financial awareness and offers a robust community for women-cantered around money conversations.

Some excerpts from the interview:

1. Can you tell us a little bit about your early years.

Since very early on I was nudged by my family to be responsible for money. When I started high school, every day after 1pm I would go to my father’s office where he taught me everything about finance; from how to manage and invest money to how to look after your portfolio.
Then soon I got an opportunity to intern with my uncle who had just set up a stock broker firm. I feel those were my formative years which made finance a part of my daily life.

2. After having a wholesome education from HR and SP Jain, why did you feel the need for another degree?

It was after SP Jain that I realised education is the best gift you can give yourself. I feel you can never stop upskilling yourself. I had already been in my business for over 10 years and I felt it was time for me to take a step back and look at the whole picture. Going to Harvard Business School was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The exposure, networking, opportunities; they were the best years.

3. What were the few challenges you faced early on in your career.

As LXME is a tech platform, and as I wasn’t from technological background it took me some time to be able to adapt to it and make a business out of it. Making a product is the first step there is so much that goes into it post that. It was extremely challenging for me to create a team of girls who were equally passionate about financial planning and believed in it as much as I do. It’s a learning process that never stops!

We’re really grateful to Priti Rathi Gupta for sharing her journey and valuable learnings with us.
