All you need to know about the online GMAT exam

On August 7th, our founder, Vibha Kagzi was invited as a panelist for a webinar hosted by Sehar Khanna from GMAT India. Throughout the discussion, there were various insights shared. Here are some of the highlights to help you understand a little more about the online GMAT exam and its structure.

As we all know the COVID 19 pandemic has changed the dynamics and working of everything around us. A massive change in the study abroad spectrum has been that GMAT™ has now introduced an all-new online GMAT exam. This exam has been designed to help students appear for the exam from the comfort of their homes. It’s going to be revolutionary for students across the globe, with an increase in flexibility and accessibility now anyone can appear for GMAT exams at any point of the day or week, through Windows or Mac.

The basic features of this exam are-

· 3 full exam sections: Quantitative, Verbal, and Integrated Reasoning sections (excludes AWA)

· Flexibility to use a physical or an online whiteboard for scratch work

· Disability accommodations

· Accepted by over 7,000 global business programs

· Complimentary unlimited score report sending

The Cost Registration and validity of the scores-

· $200 with complimentary unlimited score reporting to schools

· Reschedule Fees – Waived

· Cancellation fees (up to 24 hours before appointment time) – Waived

· Appointments available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

· Scores will not be included in score reports form test-center based exam

· The Online exam does not count toward 12 month and lifetime limits

Similarities between giving the GMAT exam at the test center and online –

The content and structure of the exam remain the same. Scoring methodology, algorithm, and score scales have not been changed. The scores will still be valid for 5 years. There is no difference in score distribution or average scores. Thus, rest assured you will not find any difference in the results of your GMAT exam.

How can you get started for the online GMAT exam –

It’s suggested that before the exam; you should check and review the system with ID requirements. Run a system test. Next, install OnVUE software on your computer We highly recommend ensuring that your workstation is compatible. Please remove mobile phones, headphones, watches, notes, scratch paper, or any other devices.

The next step is to run OnVUE system to check and confirm the hardware. Upload all your digital photos (Current ID and a Current face picture to match the ID.) Next, Workspace Verification is required. You need to do so by showing a 360-degree view of your desk and work-area via webcam. Lastly confirm, via installed software and proctor check that no other applications running on your system.

Once Proctor launches your online GMAT exam you are required to keep live video feed on. During the exam, you can communicate via voice channel or love chat.

After the exam is over, official scores will be posted in your mba.com account within 7 business days after completing your exam.

* Score cancellations and retakes will not be available unless there is a verified technical issue or an authorized retake.

* Please note all check-in and customer support interactions are done in English only.

For the convenience of students, now you can take the GMAT online exam at WeWork locations in Delhi NCR. The Graduate management admission council(GMAC) has partnered with WeWork to enable all the test takers to take the GMAT online exam from the WeWork locations. With this option, you no longer need to worry about internet connectivity or any other disturbances at home and can have a smooth test-taking experience. You can book your space for Rs.3000.

To increase flexibility, appointments have been extended through December 31, 2020, are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and you can schedule an exam appointment up to 24 hours before an available testing slot.

The GMAT Online exam is available in all locations, except Mainland China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, and Sudan due to regulatory and local data privacy rules.
