According to the American Psychological Association, anxiety is the top presenting concern among college students (41.6 percent), followed by depression (36.4 percent) and relationship problems (35.8 percent). The young generation today is spiraling into the dark corners of their minds due to multiple mental illnesses. It is nearly ironic that these young minds are being pushed into mental health problems despite the world, ‘developing’ every day. Anyhow, we realized that Ted talks have been known to uplift and empower and so we have 4 Ted talk recommendations that every college student must watch.

1. The Secret to Student Success by Arel Moodie
This talk talks about the redundant nature of being smart or talented and talks about how ‘effort’ is the only thing that matters. Arel Moodie is a motivational speaker from America who takes examples from his own life as a student and fully grown adult to prove how being called smart or talented does not mean that you will be successful. He explains how there are millions of people who are talented and smart but are not doing anything productive with the skill. Moodie pushes you to believe that with the right amount of effort everything can be achieved.

2. How a student changed her study habits by setting goals and Managing time by Yana Savitsky
Yana Savitsky talks about how she turned her student life around by using the Pomodoro Method. Yana Savitsky saw a need to change her method of studying and decided that she needed to act soon to get her academics back on track. 3. What do Top Students do Differently by Douglas Barton
