The University of Michigan, founded in 1817 in Detroit, is a public research. In 1837, the university moved to Ann Arbor, which is now divided into the North, Central, Medical, and South Campuses. UMich also has two regional campuses in Dearborn and Flint. It also has a very high research output, having had over 24 Nobel Prize Winners in the past and is one of the foremost research universities in the United States.
