Looking back ten years after graduating from Darden, I can confidently say that the experiences outside the classroom were just as transformative as the coursework. Here are seven keyways to immerse yourself in your MBA journey.<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Build relationships with classmates beyond academics<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Your peers will be your lifelong network, so investing in relationships outside of the classroom is crucial. Whether it was weekend hikes, startup brainstorming sessions, or late-night case discussions, some of my most valuable connections were formed through informal interactions. The MBA journey is intense, and building strong friendships makes the experience more meaningful and enjoyable.<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. Take on leadership roles<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      An MBA program is the perfect environment to develop leadership skills in a low-risk setting. I took on leadership positions within student clubs and organized events, which helped me refine my ability to manage teams and make strategic decisions. These experiences translated directly into my post-MBA career, making me a more confident and capable leader.<\/span><\/p>\n

      1. Join clubs and participate in experiences<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        MBA programs have a wide range of student-run clubs, from professional associations to sports and social groups. I joined as VP of the community consulting club, which provided access to case prep sessions, industry leaders, and networking events. At the same time, participating in cultural clubs introduced me to new perspectives and friendships that lasted long after graduation.
