I\u2019m passionate about exploring the intersection between business and impact, and I aspire to eventually start an organization that successfully integrates those two worlds.Being able to follow your path to the right career is crucial. Who guided you? What motivated you to choose this academic\/career path?<\/strong>
\nMy career path so far has been unconventional \u2013 after completing my undergrad in Accounting & Finance, I transitioned into the social impact space where I worked in microfinance and social impact consulting. I then transitioned into my family business, which is furniture manufacturing \u2013 a complete shift. Through this I\u2019ve received unending support from my friends and family, as well as from my bosses and colleagues. Getting to where I am has taken a village and its been that diversity of guidance that encouraged me to push my boundaries and take exciting leaps in my career, the most recent of which is pursuing my MBA.Can you share with us what are you looking to pursue as a career in the future?<\/strong>My eventual goal is to be an entrepreneur with a socially responsible business. As a next step in that journey I\u2019m exploring career opportunities in the social impact space as well as the start-up space. My perfect post-MBA job would be in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where I\u2019m surrounded by intelligent people and no two days are the same.Describe the most interesting lesson\/experience at college that you have had till date.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The most interesting lesson I\u2019ve learned at college is how to prioritize my time. There\u2019s so much that happens here, and everything is extremely interesting, but there just aren\u2019t enough hours in the day. There was a steep learning curve, but I eventually figured out how to decide which activities made the most sense for me.<\/p>\n

What are the special features\/highlights of your college experience so far?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The highlight of my time at Ross has been MAP, which is a very unique offering from the school. As part of our core curriculum, we spend seven-weeks out of the classroom working in teams on a real consulting project. This hands-on experience gave me the opportunity to learn from my extremely talented teammates and apply the concepts I had picked up in the classroom in the real world. It was one of the main reasons I chose Ross and it completely lived up to my expectations.<\/p>\n

What advice would you like to give to other students\/professionals who wish to boost their academic or career goals?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Take time to reflect and truly envision your future goals. By being honest with yourself about what you want (and not what you think you should want), you can intentionally take steps towards achieving your objectives.<\/p>\n

If there is one thing you\u2019d like to change in your college, what would it be?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The duration of the program \u2013 two years just won\u2019t be enough!<\/p>\n

Be true to yourself throughout \u2013 while deciding your next move, while going through the application process and definitely once you\u2019re at school, because only then will you derive the most value out of the experience.<\/p>\n
